Membership is exclusively for professional wedding and event-related vendors serving clients in the Greater Chicago area.
Our mission includes helping vendors make their businesses greener and helping business owners network and become a source of referrals for one another. Membership benefits include:
A listing as an approved vendor on our website
Use of exclusive "GWA Approved Vendor" seal for marketing materials and on your website
Networking with like-minded business owners at member-only networking events
Opportunities to participate in popular green wedding shows and other educational events for consumers
The membership committee will evaluate all applications rigorously and not all businesses are approved. Being green goes well beyond just recycling. Businesses will be surveyed on many points with different surveys for each category.
Those that qualify for membership will receive a site visit by the committee to verify their green practices. Applicants who don’t demonstrate a high enough level of environmentally responsible business practices can request guidance about how to improve and will be invited to reapply.
To be considered, fill out our contact form. Once we verify that you’re a legitimate business, we’ll keep your information on file and send you an industry-specific application to fill out during our upcoming application period. Although not all applications are approved, we’re glad to educate vendors and consumers. If we feel that your business doesn’t yet qualify, we’ll guide you and give you ideas for areas you can improve. You can also browse our member profiles and check out their sustainability efforts. (Applications open January 1st each year).
